ACC Approves Vinyl Fences

While beginning to wind down the activities for the year with the final activity being the Fall Festival and Annual Home Owners Meeting, the board is starting to become more focused on issues at hand, one being the revision of the by-laws and Covenants for the neighborhood. While doing this a request for approval came across for one of our neighbors to install a vinyl fence. The request was originally denied because the covenants weren’t clear as to what exactly was “acceptable”. After the homeowner and the Board of Directors did some careful research, the vote was amended, and approval was granted.

The Chadds Ridge Homeowners Association’s Board of Directors voted 4 to 1 to approve the very first vinyl fence to be installed in the neighborhood.

The research showed that, while the covenants say that there should be no chain linked or cyclone fences, no where does it state that only one material should be used. Most were under the impression that since wood has been the only material used, it had to be the standard. The new fence is certainly a new “concept” for Chadds Ridge. Rest assured, there are standards that have been established by Ron Richardson and the Architectural Control Committee that each homeowner will need to follow. Only certain grades of vinyl will be acceptable, and there are only a few styles that are allowable as well. If you would like more information regarding a vinyl fence for your lot, or any other ACC issue, please feel free to call Ron Richardson at (678) 445-4252.
