Woodstock Police launch a new program in an effort to bring neighbors together. The idea behind Nation of Neighbors is to promote neighborhood watch from one’s own home computer.
www.nationofneighbors.com is a website designed to bring together community members and law enforcement through an online neighborhood watch website in order to improve quality of life within Woodstock subdivisions. All of the neighborhoods within the City have been entered.
www.nationofneighbors.com is a tool for both law enforcement and the community to communicate with each other. Nation of Neighbors accepts information from both citizens and law enforcement and then sends email or text message alerts to other members within the neighborhood.
Members can use the website to discuss suspicious activity within the community, participate in community discussions, share news, photos and documents, and manage upcoming events. In the event that several members report identical or related incidents, a report is sent to the Woodstock Police Department. Law enforcement, in turn, can communicate with members within subdivisions through alerts.
Membership is free. Advertising, spam messages, or any other messages that distract from the purpose of the website are strictly prohibited and will result in the immediate suspension of one’s membership.
